Wellbeing Plan at Gortnahoe NS

Whole School Wellbeing at Gortnahoe NS

At Gortnahoe NS, we are committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. As part of our dedication to mental, emotional, and physical well-being, we have introduced a Whole School Wellbeing Plan that runs throughout the school year. Each month, we focus on a different aspect of well-being, helping students develop healthy habits, mindfulness techniques, and a positive mindset.

Our Whole School Wellbeing Plan includes:

🟢 September – Healthy Habits: Encouraging students to build routines that support their well-being, such as good nutrition, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep.

🟠 October – Meditation: Introducing meditation practices to help students develop focus, reduce stress, and improve emotional regulation.

🟡 November – Affirmations & Growth Mindset: Promoting positive self-talk and a growth mindset to boost confidence and resilience.

🔵 December – Acts of Kindness (Have You Filled Your Bucket?): Encouraging kindness and compassion through small acts that make a big difference.

🟣 January – Yoga: Exploring the benefits of yoga for flexibility, relaxation, and mental clarity.

🟢 February – Mindfulness Colouring: Using creative activities to help students unwind, express themselves, and practice mindfulness.

🟠 March/April – Journaling: Encouraging students to reflect on their thoughts and feelings through journaling, promoting self-awareness and emotional expression.

🟡 May – Mindful Minutes & Breathing Exercises: Teaching simple breathing techniques to help students manage stress and stay present in the moment.

🔵 June – Mindful Outdoor Activities: Taking well-being outside with nature walks, outdoor mindfulness exercises, and time to appreciate the world around us.

At Gortnahoe NS, we believe that well-being is at the heart of a happy and successful school experience. Through these activities, we aim to equip students with lifelong skills to manage stress, build resilience, and cultivate a sense of well-being. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this initiative across our school community!

Stay tuned for updates and tips on how to get involved! 🌿✨
